VOLUNTEERING WITH FIRST

Where deemed appropriate, clients will also be matched with a volunteer for additional support through their rehabilitation process.

Roles of Volunteers within FIRST are wide and varied and include roles such as the transporting of clients to and from appointments, taking clients for a coffee / stroll in the park, etc. as well as their much valued skills and, for some, hands on experience.

Volunteers who have specialist skills / experience in relevant areas are encouraged to utilise these qualities in a group setting or one to one basis (i.e. aromatherapy, healthy eating, cooking, etc.).  One to one support in a befriending role will also be an integral part of the service and will be provided via volunteer input.

Regular feedback in relation to the progress of clients will be required from each volunteer in order that staff are aware of any issues as they arise.

Each time a volunteer visits a client, a record of what went on, how the client was, the volunteer's observations, etc. should be recorded on the

Volunteer/Client Visit Log Form.

Any reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed monthly.

The Volunteer/Client Visit Log must be forwarded along with any

expenses as proof of attendance.

Our Next Volunteer Training will take place shortly -

please check back

An application form can be obtained by contacting the office on 01592 585960

or by clicking on our "Downloads" Page.
