Referral Procedure
One to
One Intervention
Ongoing one to one appointment sessions will be offered to clients at a
specified satellite base.
Home visits will
only be carried out in exceptional circumstances.
In order to ensure holistic client care, it is essential to liaise with fellow
professionals working with the client on a regular basis. However, written
client consent must be obtained for this to happen. Should a client refuse this
consent, their rights will be honoured and they should never be pressured
into giving such. It should, however, be pointed out that they may not receive
the most holistic care in this situation.
The above does not apply if there are Child Protection issues.

Groupwork
A variety of Groupwork sessions will be offered in accordance with client needs
and area demands. Groupwork will be developed alongside a variety of
partnership agencies and where possible, Groupwork will be offered in the
client's locality for ease of accessibility. In areas where community groups
already exist, these will be utilised. Only active clients within F.I.R.S.T.
are able to access Groupwork programmes.

Volunteer Support
Where deemed appropriate, clients will also be matched with a volunteer for
additional support through their rehabilitation process.
Roles of Volunteers within F.I.R.S.T. are wide and varied and include roles such
as the transporting of clients to and from appointments, taking clients for a
coffee / stroll in the park, etc. as well as their much valued skills and, for
some, hands on experience.
